Hiring a magician isn’t something you do every day, so I get lots of questions about what I do and how I do it. Here’s a selection of the questions I get asked most frequently. If you have a question that isn’t included, please contact me for a prompt response.
HOW DO I KNOW HOW GOOD YOUR MAGIC IS?
There are not that many professional magicians working in the UK, and the sector is extremely competitive. If you’re not very good, you simply don’t survive in the profession. I have 20 years’ experience and I love performing magic – my audiences tell me that this shines through.
Take a look at my testimonials, there you’ll find plenty of feedback from clients all of whom were very happy with my contribution to their wedding, party, or event. Here are 6 things that I think differentiate me from other UK magicians for hire:

HOW LONG WILL YOU SPEND AT MY EVENT?
If I’m providing close-up magic at a party, or drinks reception I need roughly an hour to interact with 40 people. It really comes down to the size of your event, therefore. If I’m booked to provide table magic at a dinner, it’s slightly harder to estimate as I work between courses and spend time at each table. I can normally perform for 10 tables in around 2 hours.
HOW MUCH DOES HIRING A MAGICIAN COST?
My magic performance is tailored to your event. This means that the price will be tailored too. When quoting, I take into consideration the number of guests, and the period you require me to perform for. I work mainly in London so, at present, I don’t include travelling expenses in my fee. DO YOU INTERACT WITH CHILDREN AT EVENTS?
Whilst I’m not a children’s entertainer as such, I’m always happy to interact with any children present at an event, and I have a few simple tricks to delight them with. My ideal audience is made up of adults and older teenagers. If you’re looking for a children’s entertainer though, do get in touch as I can offer you an excellent recommendation.
DO YOU HAVE INSURANCE?
I certainly do. I have Public Liability insurance cover for up to £1,000,000. As well as covering me, this also covers your guests and your venue in case of accident. (I should just mention that I’ve never yet had to use this.)
IF YOU CANCEL, WHAT DO WE DO?
It’s extremely unlikely that I would cancel but – should accident or illness stop me from attending – the Magic Circle will find an alternative magician for your event. Over the past 20 years I have only missed 2 shows.
DO YOU PROVIDE FREE PERFORMANCES FOR CHARITIES?
I’m certainly happy to provide magic performances for charities that I support. I do not currently have any available slots.
